Le prix est décerné à Daniel Lincot, directeur de recherche CNRS.
Il mène des recherches sur l’énergie solaire photovoltaïque depuis 1978. Il est à l’origine d’innovations dans le domaine des procédés et des matériaux en couches minces. Il a aussi contribué de façon décisive à structuration du domaine à l’interface recherche-industrie avec la création d’instituts dédiés, l’institut de recherche et développement sur l’énergie photovoltaïque (EDF/CNRS/Chimie ParisTech-PSL) en 2002, puis l’Institut photovoltaïque d’Île de France (IPVF) en 2013, dont il sera le directeur scientifique jusqu’en 2019. Il poursuit aujourd’hui avec un projet d’innovation industrielle.

Depuis 1979, l’Académie des Sciences remet chaque année le Prix « Ivan Peychès ». Ce prix est destiné à «  récompenser des travaux portant sur les applications de l’étude des matériaux non métalliques notamment vitreux ou de l’énergie solaire ou, à défaut dans le domaine des Sciences appliquées  ». L’école de Villevaudé (Seine-et-Marne) porte depuis 1992 le nom d’Ivan Peychès, en hommage à l’Académicien qui vécut dans cette commune de 1947 à sa mort, le 30 septembre 1978.

Académie des Sciences, prize for the application of science to industry – Prix Ivan Peychès is awarded to Daniel Lincot, CNRS research director.

The prize is awarded to Daniel Lincot, CNRS Research Director.
He has been conducting research on photovoltaic solar energy since 1978. He is at the origin of innovations in the field of thin film processes and materials. He has also made a decisive contribution to structuring the field at the research-industry interface with the creation of dedicated institutes, the Photovoltaic Energy Research and Development Institute (EDF/CNRS/Chimie ParisTech-PSL) in 2002, then the Institut photovoltaïque d’Île de France (IPVF) in 2013, of which he will be the scientific director until 2019. He is currently pursuing an industrial innovation project.

Since 1979, the Academy of Sciences has been awarding the « Ivan Peyches Prize » every year. This prize is intended to « reward work relating to applications in the study of non-metallic materials, particularly vitreous materials or solar energy or, failing that, in the field of applied sciences ». Since 1992, the school in Villevaudé (Seine-et-Marne) has been named after Ivan Peychès, in homage to the academician who lived in this commune from 1947 until his death on September 30, 1978.
