IPVF UNITE Webinar – Agrivoltaics, greenhouse crops

16/09/2024

Greenhouse cultivation is one of the sustainable development tools available to French agriculture to achieve food sovereignty. It helps to satisfy the national demand for fruit and vegetable consumption while minimizing the use of phytosanitary products and protecting against climatic hazards.

The integration of photovoltaic technologies into these structures is a step forward towards a more efficient and environmentally friendly agriculture.

Many initiatives are underway to frame, analyze and highlight best practices, in France and in Europe, proposed by public bodies such as ADEME or professional associations such as Solar Power Europe and leading research centers (INRAE, CNRS, IPVF, etc.).

On the technical side, the challenge is to maximize both agricultural production and photovoltaic production, so it is a question of sharing the light between the plant and the solar cells.

In this webinar, we will give the floor to French and European companies that are developing innovative solutions to address this problem,

Thomas Behaeghe from Virto Solar will present Virto.CAD, a photovoltaic design software that optimizes the design quickly and easily. It can be used for all types of projects, including AgriPV projects.

Laurent Thibaudeau, Director of Innovation at Feedgy will present the Feedgy agrivoltaic module offer, innovative modules developed with the technological leader Huasun

Alain Janet, CEO of Solar Cloth System will present a mobile and retractable photovoltaic shading screen, a patented system developed with the help of two INRAE researchers. The PV screen is made on a textile basis from flexible rollable photovoltaic films integrating CIGS solar cells.

Jonas Roch, CTO of Voltiris, a company from EPFL, will present a photovoltaic solution with spectral filtration that allows plants to receive all the light components necessary for their growth.

The Webinar will take place on Wednesday, October 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

It will be hosted by Amaury MARTIN, researcher at the IPVF.
