IPVF PRESENTATION

The “Institut Photovoltaïque d’Île-de-France” IPVF aims at becoming one of the main global research, innovation and education centers in the field of photovoltaic solar energy. Founded by international well-known industrials, leading in PV industry (EDF, Total, Air Liquide, Horiba and Riber) and academic research teams (CNRS, Ecole Polytechnique), IPVF wants to increase performance and competitiveness of PV solar and other renewables technologies to support energy transition thanks to:

  • A research program on various PV and related technologies
  • Experimental laboratories open to PV actors : more than 70 state-of-the-art tools, in a dedicated IPVF building
  • Education program with a master and PhD students

 

JOB CONTEXT

The project’s mission is to provide economic, environmental and social indicators in order to help IPVF making the most suitable technological choices for successful commercialization. Thus, setting up industrialization roadmaps for IPVF’s processes and technologies is of strategic importance for the institute.

 

MAIN MISSIONS

  • To prepare the industrialization phase of R&D projects at IPVF
    • Perform technology cost calculations (CoO, LCOE, etc.) and assess sustainability of technologies
    • Evaluate the maturity of technologies developed at IPVF through the TRL (Technology Readiness Level) and identify obstacles that may block the industrialization process
    • Identify new technology concepts that have potential for commercialization
  • To assist with the industrialization phases of the chosen concepts
    • Establish the technology roadmap for tandem cells and help to drive the commercialization process
    • Assess the potential for commercialization of processes and technologies developed at IPVF (e.g. perovskites, III-V and tandem technologies)
    • Help to establish industrial partnerships

 

EXPECTED PROFILE

Knowledge (Methodological and organisationnal skills)
  • In-depth knowledge of photovoltaics technologies
  • Knowledge of PV manufacturing processes for both lab and fab
  • Knowledge of cost assessment for PV technologies and PV markets
  • English is essential. French would be appreciated, but not mandatory.
  • Good written and oral expression
